Please i want to know why there is no reaction when copper metal is added to dilute hydrochloric acid.?

Take a look at your textbook and look for the activity series table. Copper metal is usually inactive in dilute acid. That's the reason why we use copper for so many things! It's a great conductor and it hardly reacts to anything that's weaker than it in the activity series.
