What was one of the things you believed as a child that today you find to be absolutely ridiculous?

I used to believe it when my mum told me if I swallowed orange pips, then an orange tree would grow out of my head. Oh, and that if I swallowed bubble gum, it'd get wrapped around my internal organs.
